The 2nd generation device incorporating the VRI™-technology , Breeze@home™, which is currently in the investigational phase, is a non-invasive and radiation-free system utilizes an array of sensors incorporated into a custom-tailored light weight vest for use in daily home monitoring.
The system incorporates a hand-held wireless controller (a tablet computer or a smart phone) with simple audio instructions and visual cues to assist the patient to easily perform the test. The information collected in the patient’s home is transmitted automatically to a remote Data Server. At the remote server, the system then uses proprietary algorithms to convert these data into quantitative information and dynamic images presenting lung function. This data is transferred to a secured Patient Server where it is reviewed by medical professionals who access this information from any computer using secured communication. The medical staff can contact the patient remotely for additional evaluation, including video conferencing and real-time auscultation, and use the recorded data in making patient management decisions.
Current Investigations
By monitoring changes in lung sound parameters, clinical symptoms and vital signs, Deep Breeze is currently studying whether the Breeze@home modality can assist in early detection of exacerbations in patients with disorders such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).
*Disclaimer: Breeze@home has received CE approval. It is in a development phase, and for investigational use only in the USA. | |
