Mechanical Ventilation vs Spontaneous Breathing

Laparascopic Cholecystectomy - 56 y.o. Female

These two images by the VRIICU™ were recorded in the operating room on a patient before Laparascopic Cholecystectomy. The first image was obtained while the patient was spontaneously breathing and the second while the patient was mechanically ventilated. While overall features are similar in both images, geographical distribution of vibration energy diminishes when the patient is mechanically ventilated, especially on the lower regions of the lungs.
