Patient History
The patient was admitted with a persistent cough for 5 days. Patient work-up and chest X-ray revealed no pathological findings. A foreign body was suspected as the cause of the cough. | Explanation: the indications on the image by the VRIxp™ device are consistent with a massive blockage in the lung, thus precluding the need for a preliminary exam with flexible bronchoscopy. The patient was therefore taken directly to the operating room to remove the foreign body by rigid bronchoscopy. |

Mild dynamic disturbance (asynchronism of the vibration energy movment)
Prolonged expiratory phase.
No evidence in the size and intensity diffrences when comparing right and left lungs.
|
| Explanation: the findings on the image derived from the VRIXP™ device can correlate to an obstructive disease (e.g. Asthma) and the image lowers dramatically the probability of a foreign body aspiration. |
