Post-Sleeve Resection - Obstruction Right Main Bronchus

Laser Incision - 70 y.o. Male

Patient Data
The patient underwent a sleeve resection due to stenosis at anastomosis (Lumen 25%).  The patient was subsequently scheduled for laser incision.  In addition to chest X-ray and pulmonary function tests (PFT's),  repetitive standard 12 second procedures by the VRIxp™ device was performed pre and post-laser incision.
  Pre-Interventional Procedure:

       Tumor                  Overinflation
Obstruction RMB         Left Lung

Image by the VRIxp™ Device Pre-Intervention:

Decrease in the vibration energy in the
     right lung
An amputation of the right lower lung
   Overinflation of the left lung

Explanation: the image by the VRIxp™ device clearly shows the ventilation  disturbance of the right lung, with an overinflated left lung that is reconfirmed  by chest X-Ray.  PFT:  FEV1=1.6L (71%); FVC=2.6L (88%).

 Post-Interventional Procedure:

      Balloon                  Laser                   Reduced
      Dilation            Incision                Overinflation
                                                             Left Lung &
                                                             Amputation
                                                             Right Lung

Image by the VRIxp™ Device Post-Balloon Dilation & Laser Incision:

Equal vibration intensity and a near equally
    sized right and left lung
A small amputation of the right lower lung
    still remains
Explanation:  although the PFT results have not improved all other clinically indications of the patient has improved, correlating directly with improved image produced by the VRIxp™ device.  This can be accounted to the fact that the PFT was performed directly post-interventional procedure.  PFT:  FEV1=1.4L (62%); FVC=2.3L (79%).
